Matt & Meg were married on a hot summer day. Even with the temperatures reaching nearly 100 degrees, they were troopers and along with their bridal party took Nashville by storm for some fun images that we love!

The romance continued the following day when Jen & Kent celebrated with a dessert reception at delicious Stoveworks Restaurant in the Factory at Franklin.  Jen & Kent were able to indulge with their guest in some of their favorite desserts and enjoy some quality time together with their guests.  We got even more time with the newlyweds for pictures during a “day after” style session.

Jenny & Kent, we are so happy to have been a part of your ridiculously amazing weekend wedding and we thank you for treating us like family at your wedding and beyond.  Kramer  is also thankful for when you guys kept him we went to see Jonathon’s Dad up in Boston. If I left anything out, I will thank you again many, many more times!  I will leave you with one of my favorites…

It was a beautiful Spring Day and Jen & Kent were excited to be married. They had opted for a 2 day celebration. The day of their actual ceremony was an intimate affair. Their vows, officiated by Jen’s Dad were witnessed by a small group of their closest friends and family at The Cool Springs House and followed with a yummy reception in a private room at Stoney River in Nashville.  The day was filled with some funny stories that we really need Kent to guest post to tell you, but I can tell you that they involve a sucicidal deer, a wrecked getaway car, a pantless groomsman and a missing Groom (as a result of the crazy deer!). These of course are all things that are not funny at the time, I’m sure, but they are one of the things that we love about weddings: They are never the same as the next one.  Not to be overshadowed, the beautiful moments were aplenty.

Jen & Kent opted for a first look. This is a special time arranged ahead of time where the bride and groom meet privately before their ceremony. Usually the only other people around are the photographers. We like to hang back and give them some privacy so we cannot hear what they are saying , but still capture the emotion that this time often brings.

Kristin & Jason declared their eternal love for each other in a room filled with their friends and family. You may remember these two from their Firehouse inspired Engagement Session. They were so excited to get married & this was the most important element in all of their wedding planning. It was a joy to be with them and their loved ones on the day they vowed to love each other for ever.

Kristin opted for a unique look for her engagement and wedding bands. Love that she does not feel like she has to be like everyone else. Love the sapphires too!

A letter to Tiny Sunshine…

Three years ago today, we called The Wagners and woke them up at 6:45 am because our plan to have Grandma here was not happening for another week. You decided that 3 more weeks swimming around in Mommy’s tummy was no longer an option.  Apparently, I had been having contractions all night, but dismissed them as Braxton Hicks because we still had 3 more weeks until you were due to arrive!  Kindly, Mr. Dave came over to hang out with your big brothers, who were anxiously waiting on the stairs (and were probably worried because at this point Mommy was doubled over in pain. By 7:00 am we hit the road and Daddy drove as fast as he ever has to get us there. Its normally a 20 minute drive to the hospital, but I am pretty sure that it only took Daddy about 11 minutes on that day. On the way, we called Grandma in California to let her know what was happening. Mommy had forgotten to register at the hospital and since the boys were born in CA, she had to do that when they got there. I got to sit in a wheelchair while the nice lady at the computer asked me how to spell C-A-M-P-B-E-L-L. I happily did so, but you were really annoyed by her questions and were anxiously getting ready to join us!!

A few minutes later, we were wheeled into a nice room, where the nurses took control. It was now about 7:45am and they called the doctor right away so she could catch you!  I begged Daddy to make you wait for the doctor (and the drugs), but he looked at me like I was crazy.  About 10 minutes later you were born to a room full of nurses. A wonderful nurse took care of you and weighed you and then gave you to Daddy who then put you into my arms.  I already loved you, but when I saw you, I was so happy & relieved that you were okay. From your beautiful hair, I realized why my heartburn had been so bad. I held you for a while and cried happy tears. Daddy held you and sang to you, like he still does. You did such a great job.

Later that day, the boys came to see you and they were so excited because you brought them presents on your birthday! N was so surprised that you knew he wanted a Buzz Lightyear and H was thrilled that you gave him transformers to play with. They were so excited to get to share them with you but didn’t realize that it would be a while before you could play with their stuff.

Today, you are 3 years old. Your hair is so long and curly. You love to dance and sing like you are the happiest girl in the world. You like to play with your big brothers, but sometimes you get mad at them because they play Wii so much and you just want them to pay attention to you. So you dance and jump around or on them to get it! I watch you and try to enjoy every minute, knowing that one day you will no longer be a little girl and have your own children. For today though, I will sing and dance with you, sweet girl. Daddy, your brothers & I love you so very much and wish you the happiest birthday ever!

“Dance like no one is watching”. My BFF used to say this to me all the time and I (Sharon) pretty much lived by this rule as a teenager and then I got a little more self conscious as an adult.  I used to do a mean **”Molly Ringwald” (way before she was on “The Secret Life of an American Teenager”, she was a huge teenage movie star) but then I was too “aware” and was a little less free on the dance floor.  It wasn’t until I started dating Jonathon that the I forgot to be self conscious again and remembered to just let him lead and  ”dance like no one is watching”. We’d hit the Coconut Club that used to be the celebrity stop for big band music and salsa dancing. I am not saying we were any good, because we weren’t. We were falling in love & it certainly may have been apparent to those who witnessed our dancing.  Similarly, it was obvious to us when we did Casey & Josh’s engagement shoot how in love these 2 are.  Along with Hartz Photographic, we followed them around and captured it all on camera (after the post, check out Hartz Photographic’s blog today to see their Save the Date in motion.  They danced like no one was watching…

 **If you don’t know what I am talking about, go out and rent yourself a “Brat Pack” triple feature of The Breakfast Club,  Sixteen Candles and my all time favorite 80s flick- Pretty in Pink (you will never see Jon Cryer the same way again, he is so cute!! Sorry Jonathon!).

We met Kelly almost a year ago and immediately connected over what she envisioned for her wedding day. Her big blue eyes literally sparkled as she spoke of her wedding day, clearly an event that she had dreamed about as a little girl. Her excitement was catching and Sharon and I became very excited to get to work with Kelly for the next several months.

She told us about her fiance John Phillip- a man of faith and determination. We began to think him a fictitious character, as he was always busy playing softball or basketball, busy with this or that and we never laid eyes on the man. He sounded good and the way Kelly spoke of him, all personality and smiles, he was sure to impress. It was months before a meeting with John Phillip was finally confirmed. As he came down the street to meet us, his smile did not disappoint. Sharon immediately noted (she told me later) that he lit up the room. What I noticed was that Kelly was a more relaxed version of herself and we all felt as comfortable as if we had known each other for years.

This wedding was one of the most joyous occasions of recent memory. It was a day of celebration not only for the love that Kelly and John Phillip share, but a celebration of the fact that nothing is impossible.

The first image, at the top of this post, is a Sharon Campbell picture.  I love the way Shar captured the beauty of Kelly with all of the glorious light.

This gives the bride and groom a chance to spend some time alone on their wedding day, before all of the formalities and festivities begin. It also gives us a chance to capture some relaxed moments.

I love how in this photo everyone is standing and looking at Kelly. She is carrying her bouquet and a single white rose in memory of her father.

We love photographing babies (& their families). This baby was no exception. We were thrilled when Liza, who we met via The Thirty Something Bride last year called on us to come to her home when her daughter Sailor was born. Liza is a bridal coach &  Mommy blogger. You must check out her blog to learn more about her adventure of becoming a first time Mom, and then some. It is raw, real and hilarious. For now, here are some images of her gorgeous new baby, Sailor.

I always wanted to know how this was done so when Liza mentioned that the bag had Sailor’s monogram that spell “SHE”, we had to try it. I love the way the light is coming in through the front door. 

If you read part 1 , you know that Nashville Wedding & Event planner, Amy Thomas of Swizzle Events put together a fabulously inspired shoot for us at Houston Station, a Nashville Wedding Event Venue. Along with so many other Nashville Wedding professionals, she brought on Lorie of Crumb de la Crumb, one of our fellow StudioWed Nashville Vendors to create a dessert table to compliment the rest of Amy’s vision.  Along with the florals by Rhonda Patton, the menu Cards by 4th Leaf Studio (another fabulous lady named Amy) and the accent lighting by Nashville Event Lighting, this table really pops! I want those chandeliers!! So tell me, guests love a good dessert table. Right?
