Helping Haiti- How we can all help.

This post is not about our images. I have to throw that out there because usually we lead a post with an image and talk about the beauty or emotion behind them. There is always a story to be told. We like stories with happy ending and perhaps that is why shooting weddings is so much fun. At the end of our chapter in the story, the couple always rides off together. This story, however, is not one with a happy ending, at least not today. It’s difficult to even imagine how to come back from the wreckage, grief and terror that the Haitian people have endured these last few weeks. Religious convictions aside, it is difficult to comprehend the meaning behind things with such loss and such destruction.

Jonathon and I have been consumed with so many thoughts. How can we help? If we did not have 3 children that depend on us daily, we would be likely be going to Haiti as soon as possible just to be able to help get food and water to people. Our kids need us so that would not be an option for us.

Soon after, Ashley  from Ashley’s Bride Guide asked Nashville wedding vendors to contribute or donate a portion of their proceeds to the cause of our choice and the bells went off! That we can do!  When anyone books with us between now and Feb 28th, we will donate $50 to the Red Cross. Many Nashville wedding vendors will be donating to the Haitian cause of their choice as well. Check out Ashley’s blog post here to see what you can do to help while planning your wedding.
