Last month Jonathon Campbell Photography celebrated its official year anniversary in the wedding industry. We learned a great deal about business and people this year and even how to balance being working parents with our happily crazy lifestyle. We are the first to admit that we are still learning how to manage our time best and still manage to get more than 4 hours of sleep a night.
Since we are working to catch up with several weddings, newborn shoots and family shoots that we have recently done, we have not been blogging much lately. Jonathon does most of the post production on our images while I manage the business side and answer emails, etc..Sadly, we have had to put a pause on blogging because we just don’t have the time right now to do a wedding blog the way we want it and give it our heart and soul. Instead, while waiting for some images I will be uploading this morning, I thought I could take a moment to catch you all up on what we have been up to.
What Jonathon has been up to: Editing, editing, editing: Stopping for little more than to answer a question or two from one of our 3 munchkins, that is pretty much all he has been up to. Why not get an assistant, you ask? Well, we would love one, but right now that is not a priority and we want to be 100% hands on with everything we do. Our editing is very personal and tailored for each client, therefore its hard to outsource our work at this time. once the editing is done, he will go into full blown album design mode and since each album is different, that will consume most of his time.
What Sharon has been up to: I have been bugging Jonathon about our timelines and making sure that we stay on track with deadlines (sometimes that goes out the window). On our way to a meeting on Monday, we got a call from NILMDTS (Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep), an organization that provides bereavement photography for grieving parents. Right away, we knew this is what we had to do and unfortunately, our priorities had to shift on Monday. They needed us. It was a very emotional day for us. We stopped by to see some friends in Franklin and briefly were able to set that sadness aside. We tried to look around for an office space. (yes, we are thinking about it), but it was all too much to think about and headed home. We were very quiet on the ride back and I could tell that Jonathon was thinking about our sad morning and the child that passed. Neither one of us will ever forget him. By the time we got home (to a a full house of kids, I might add), the cold that I had been fighting came on full force. Im pretty sure that the emotional morning took a toll on my immune system.
Yesterday, I got out for a while because after a good nights rest (thank you Nyquil), I thought I was getting better. Well that only made me feel worse and I fell asleep mid sentence. Just ask Jonathon. I’m pretty sure he was trying to tell me something important. Thank Goodness for my Mom, Marta. She has been taking care of all of us.
Anyway, I am sorry to be going on and on like this. Just thought some of our readers would like to know what we have been up to. We promise to catch up with you soon. For now, here are some flowers for your enjoyment.
