I’m not quite sure how to begin this post. I still can’t believe these past incredible 24 hrs. Sharon and I went down to Atlanta to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. She got the tickets from Craig’s List last week.
The Boys weren’t happy about us going away for the day. Harry said to me, “Daddy – a Concert or Family…Daddy, nothing is more important than family…so…no concert. You’re staying”. After a lengthy explanation. And a second lengthier explanation, we were on our way to Atlanta.
At the concert, we were fortunate to be selected to stand in the pit. Just mere feet from the stage. For me, a life long Springsteen fan, this was beyond belief. I was like a five year old on Christmas morning. Sharon always has the best presents. This girl really takes care of me.
Anyway, it was an amazing show. I was smiling and singing all night. I couldn’t believe how close we were. I swear the Big Man was winking at me. I wanted to freeze time and remember this experience forever.
Bruce played all the songs I wanted to hear. Some of his song choices were so surprising that there were audible gasps from the crowd.
A few observations from sitting so close:
1. I can’t believe Bruce is 58. If this is what 58 looks like, I want to be 58.
2. Being able to see the looks, nods and hand gestures between the band while they are playing, adds a new dimension to the music.
3. I need to sit in the third row for every concert I ever go to. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this a reality?
I’ve got to say that I love Atlanta.
HOTLanta….What Up! What a great city. I want to go back and spend more time with the fine people of the A. T. L..
I still can’t believe that night. Thank you so much to my girl Sharon….you ROCK!
Here are a selection of blurry photos from my iPhone.
